5 Must Read OSS Books: Book Reviews For The Truly Lazy

In this talk, I would like to walk attendees through five books that have helped shape my thought process as an open source enthusiast.

  1. Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution, published in the year 1999
  2. The Cathedral and the Bazaar, published in the year 1999
  3. How Linux Works, published in the year 2008
  4. Free Software, Free Society: Selected Essays of Richard M. Stallman, latest revision 2015
  5. Open Source Law, Policy and Practice, published in the year 2022

I will also share brief summaries of the books along with notes about authors. I do believe that there will be folks in the audience who are truly lazy™ and would benefit from short excerpts of the books being showcased. It will also help me communicate ideas from the book that have made a deep impression in me.
