In my journey within the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community, I have witnessed its evolution firsthand. From initiating a Linux Users group in Hyderabad to contributing to various projects like OpenStreetMap, Compiere ERP, Python, and OpenData, my experiences have provided valuable insights into the changing dynamics of community management. Over the past decade or two, I've observed significant shifts in how communities are formed and sustained, particularly among younger generations. Despite these challenges, I remain optimistic about the future of FOSS communities. By reflecting on my personal journey and the lessons learned along the way, I hope to offer guidance and inspiration to future generations of community builders, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and resilience within the FOSS ecosystem.
