How will a courts ruling on copyright impact the data that you might have scraped from the web to train your chatbot? How will you have to adapt your product to changes in safe harbour provisions? How and how much data can you collect on people, how long can you retain it, and what happens to your proprietary datasets? The world around us is changing: with over 800 million people in India online, and technology impacting all walks of life, what you do and can do online is going to be impacted by changes in regulation not just from the Indian government, but governments across the world. In this talk, I propose to explain trends in technology policy, how they are being shaped, and opportunities in reg-tech.
