Making Open Source sustainable through community contributions.

FOSS sustainability depends on community contributions. One of the biggest challenges faced by Open Source ecosytem is attracting new contributors. On the flip side, contributors find a hard time getting started and how involved with the community.

In this talk, we will discuss both contributor and maintainer perspectives. From a maintainer's view, we will discuss how to make a project more inclusive and welcoming to new contributors, following and implementing some good practices. From a contributor side, we will see how to find great and active projects to contribute to by using some tools and GitHub inbuilt functionalities and getting involved with the community. We will also discuss how Open Source contributions are not limited to code and developers, but people from any background can contribute and colloboate on Open Source projects.

I will end the talk by sharing the benefits and talk about my experience and how Open Source completely changed my life.
