Enhancing developer experience with web containers
In this technical talk, we will delve into the realm of web development and explore how web containers revolutionize the developer experience. WebContainers are a browser-based runtime for executing Node.js applications and operating system commands, entirely inside your browser tab. Apps that previously required cloud VMs to execute user code, in WebContainers can run entirely client-side with several benefits over the legacy cloud VM.
Throughout the session, I will uncover the various ways in which web containers elevate developer productivity and efficiency. Initially announced at Google I/O and later developed by the Stackblitz team, web containers unblock the pathways to run Node.js based applications directly in the browser. It makes it easy for developers to test, modify, and learn new frameworks and libraries quickly. I will share a few examples of how companies like Svelte, builder, and Stackblitz are using web containers for their code playgrounds and interactive demos in developer focussed documentation.
