Getting Started with OpenStreetMap

OpenStreetMap is an Opensource collaborative project to create a free and editable map of the world. It is a valuable resource for mapping communities, humanitarian organizations, and businesses that rely on location data.


The workshop will provide an overview of OpenStreetMap, including its history, the principles behind its creation, and how to use it.


In this session we will cover:


  1. The basics of OpenStreetMap data and how to contribute
  2. The various tools and technologies used in the OpenStreetMap ecosystem
  3. The role of OpenStreetMap in disaster response and humanitarian aid
