Introduction to Minimalist Distributions and Packaging with Arch Linux
This talk will provide a beginner-level introduction to how to package your own software for Arch Linux. If someone is new to packaging, it might feel intimidating, but it's not. The attendees will also be able to learn about what "Base Distributions" are and how one can become a contributor to one of these distributions. I will cover topics such as the packaging environment, writing an error-free PKGBUILD, understanding the structure of packages, creating a valid package, and finally submitting it to the AUR. I will also discuss the tools, techniques, and required dependencies to help streamline your workflow when developing packages.
By the end of the session, attendees should have enough background to confidently create packages for Arch Linux.
