This is a nontechnical talk about the Prav messaging app (prav.app). Prav is a secure, end-to-end encrypted, cooperative-run, federated, free-software messenger.

All these technologies exist to solve problems like vendor lock-in, proprietary software, single gatekeeper, single point of failure, closed platform, and privacy concerns. However, the main user base of these technologies tends to be programmers or privacy nerds. By designing with non-technical users in mind, Prav aims to make such technologies accessible to the general public as well.

Privacy is a fundamental right and should be easily exercised by anyone.
